NotchNook is a macOS app from indie studio lo-cafe that turns the otherwise-unused MacBook display notch into an interactive hub. Hovering or swiping near the notch reveals widgets, a files shelf, a music player, live actions, and a thousand customizable options — essentially a Dynamic-Island-style control center brought to the Mac.

It works on both notched and notchless screens (on the latter, it becomes a handle with the same functions), supports multiple monitors, and ships with scroll/swipe gestures that are central to the UX. The app is now at v1.5.5 and requires macOS 14.6 or newer.

Pricing is paid — either $3/month subscription (activates 2 devices) or a $25 one-time purchase (activates 5 devices). It's also distributed via Setapp. lo-cafe offers a 15-day refund window and license recovery, and the team is reachable via Discord and email.
