The short link generator turns long URLs into short, shareable links with optional custom aliases, password protection, expiry dates, and per-click analytics. Generating links works without an account, but viewing history and analytics requires signing in.
Custom alias format rules
Custom aliases may only contain letters, numbers, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). The minimum length is 3 characters and the maximum is 10 characters. Case is ignored — My-Link and my-link resolve to the same destination. Aliases containing spaces, Chinese characters, or special symbols will return a format error. Leave the alias field blank to get a randomly generated one.
Expiry and password protection
The default expiry is 30 days from creation. The minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 3,650 days (about 10 years). A password-protected link prompts the visitor to enter the password before redirecting. Once set, the password cannot be changed through this tool — delete the link and recreate it if you need a different password.
What the click analytics dashboard shows
Analytics are available for links you created while signed in. Select a time window of 7, 14, 30, 90, 180, or 365 days and the dashboard shows:
- Total clicks and daily average
- Click trend chart over the selected period
- Breakdown by country, city, and region
- Device type, browser, and operating system distribution
- Referrer sources and visitor language
Analytics data typically updates within a few minutes of each click.
Daily creation limit
Signed-in users can create up to 100 short links per day, resetting at midnight. Guest users have their last 50 links stored in browser storage only — clearing browser data or switching devices loses all records and access to analytics is not available for guest-created links.
