World Clock Converter

Overview

The world timezone tool displays the local time for all 38 UTC offsets (UTC-12:00 to UTC+14:00) at the same reference moment, letting you drag a time slider to find overlapping working hours across regions. It's useful for scheduling meetings, planning handoffs, or quickly checking what time it is somewhere when you only know the UTC offset.

Why the Date Can Shift After Converting

When you convert UTC+08:00 23:30 to UTC-05:00, the 13-hour difference pushes the result back to 10:30 — but also back to the previous calendar day. The card will show a "previous day" label. This is expected behavior, not a bug.

The extreme case: UTC+00:00 at 00:30 converted to UTC+14:00 (Kiribati) becomes 14:30 the next day. Going the other direction, UTC+14:00 at 23:00 converted to UTC-12:00 can produce a "+2 days" label — you've crossed two midnight boundaries.

Non-Whole-Hour Offsets in the List

Several regions use half- or quarter-hour offsets. If you're scheduling with anyone in these locations, a 30- or 45-minute gap is easy to miss:

  • UTC+05:30 — India, Sri Lanka
  • UTC+05:45 — Nepal
  • UTC+06:30 — Myanmar (Yangon)
  • UTC+09:30 — Australia (Darwin, Adelaide)
  • UTC+10:30 — Lord Howe Island
  • UTC+12:45 — Chatham Islands (New Zealand)
  • UTC-03:30 — Newfoundland, Canada
  • UTC-09:30 — Marquesas Islands

Timeline View vs. Card View

Card view arranges all 38 offsets in a grid and shows the converted time plus how many hours each zone is ahead or behind your reference. Timeline view lays out 24 hours horizontally so you can immediately see which time slots fall within business hours for multiple regions simultaneously. When coordinating across more than two time zones, the timeline view usually makes the overlap obvious at a glance.

Searching for a Timezone

Type a region name ("Tokyo", "Berlin", "New York") or an offset value ("+09:00", "-05:00") in the search box. The tool uses fuzzy matching, so partial names and minor typos still return results. Typing just "08" will filter to all UTC+08:xx offsets.
