The Twitter/X video downloader extracts native video files from tweet URLs, letting you preview and save them locally. Paste a link containing a /status/ tweet ID and the tool fetches the highest available quality version for download.
Supported Link Formats
Both twitter.com and x.com domains work:
https://twitter.com/username/status/1234567890
https://x.com/username/status/1234567890
Short links from the Twitter app (t.co/...) are not accepted. If you shared a tweet from the app and got a short URL, open it in a browser first to get the full address, then copy the URL from the address bar.
What the Tool Cannot Download
- GIFs posted as tweets — Twitter serves these as video internally but the tool extracts only native video uploads
- Videos from external embeds in tweets (YouTube, Vimeo links)
- Live streams while in progress, or live recordings that haven't been processed yet
- Videos from private accounts or deleted tweets
Multiple Quality Versions
If Twitter stored the video at more than one resolution, the result page lists all available variants. The default shown is the highest resolution, typically 1280×720 or 1920×1080 depending on what was originally uploaded. Select a lower resolution if you need a smaller file size.
API Rate Limiting
Twitter's API limits the number of requests that can be made in a short period. If the tool returns an error after a short burst of downloads, wait a few minutes before retrying. This is a platform-side restriction, not a tool error.
