Why High-Resolution Videos Have No Audio
1080p and higher YouTube videos store the video track and audio track separately. Choosing a "video only" format gives you a silent file. Formats shown with an audio indicator include both tracks, and when you pick one the tool merges them server-side before delivering the download.
Audio-Only Download
The bottom of the format list shows entries labeled "audio only." These are M4A, WebM Audio, or Opus files — 10–30× smaller than a full video file for the same content.

- WebM Audio / Opus — smaller file size; excellent quality on supporting players but may not work on older devices
- MP4 — video + audio combined; widest compatibility when you're unsure about the receiver's player

720p is the best balance between quality and size for mobile viewing. Verify you have enough local storage before starting a 4K download.

When a Download Fails
- Premium or members-only content — YouTube Premium exclusives cannot be downloaded
- Region-restricted videos — the tool returns an error if the video is blocked in your region
- Live or scheduled streams — cannot be processed while live or not yet published
- Private videos — only visible to the channel owner; parsing fails
